Rep. Jones Visits Share Offices.

Although Kalamazoo area voters sent him to Lansing in 2006, Robert Jones remains one of the most visible and popular activists on the local scene.
The four-term Kalamazoo mayor still frequents Art Hops, business meetings, ribbon-cuttings and neighborhood gatherings where he listens to the concerns of his constituents.
"I've turned my attention to being an advocate for all of Michigan," State Rep. Jones said in a visit to ShareKalamazoo the other day, "but I know a big part of my job is to bring our share of state resources back to the area."
Jones says he's hopeful that 2008 will find more bipartisan support for important advances for the state economy. He's pleased that Kalamazoo is getting recognition for its leadership in education, the life sciences and economic development.
"(Southwest Michigan First CEO) Ron Kitchens is doing a good job of building bridges in the state capitol," said Jones. "All things considered, this should be a smoother year than 2007."
